Sauerkraut and ribs last night for New Year’s Eve (because that was a tradition in my wife’s family and that meal is said to be a sign of good luck).
Bean and ham soup today for New Year’s Day (because it is -2 F at dinner time and soup is thus good for the body and soul, and….because for some reason, eating beans on New Year’s Day is said to bring a person good luck for the coming year).
One can never be too careful, or too superstitious.
